MeSH D000707

Anaphylaxis is an acute multi-system severe type I hypersensitivity reaction. The term comes from the Greek words ἀνά ana (against) and φύλαξις phylaxis (protection).[1]

Due in part to the variety of definitions, between 1% and 15% of the population of the United States can be considered "at risk" for having an anaphylactic reaction if they are exposed to one or more allergens. Of those people who actually experience anaphylaxis, up to 1% may die as a result.[2] Anaphylaxis results in approximately 1,500 deaths per year in the U.S.[3][4] In England, mortality rates for anaphylaxis have been reported as up to 0.05 per 100,000 population, or around 10-20 a year.[5] Anaphylactic reactions requiring hospital treatment appear to be increasing, with authorities in England reporting a threefold increase between 1994 and 2004.[6]

Based on the pathophysiology, anaphylaxis can be divided into "true anaphylaxis" and "pseudo-anaphylaxis" or "anaphylactoid reaction." The symptoms, treatment, and risk of death are the same; however, "true" anaphylaxis is caused by degranulation of mast cells or basophils mediated by immunoglobulin E (IgE), and pseudo-anaphylaxis occurs without IgE mediation.[7])

When I was notified of the cause of death they could only describe the symptoms because they didn't know anything about the side effects of this medicines.

Epinephrine autoinjector is one of the medications for ANaphylaxis but no one is giving or prescribing this emergency medication for people with side effects for this medicaiton.

When I was put on this very same medication I experienced these side effects.

Haloperidol is a typical antipsychotic. It is in the butyrophenone class of antipsychotic medications and has pharmacological effects similar to the phenothiazines.

Haloperidol is an older antipsychotic used in the treatment of schizophrenia and, more acutely, in the treatment of acute psychotic states and delirium. A long-acting decanoate ester is used as a long acting injection given every 4 weeks to people with schizophrenia or related illnesses who have a poor compliance with medication and suffer frequent relapses of illness, or to overcome the drawbacks inherent to its orally administered counterpart that burst dosage increases risk or intensity of side effects. In some countries this can be involuntary under Community Treatment Orders.

Haloperidol is sold under the tradenames Aloperidin, Bioperidolo, Brotopon, Dozic, Duraperidol (Germany), Einalon S, Eukystol, Haldol, Halosten, Keselan, Linton, Peluces, Serenace, Serenase, and Sigaperidol.

Treatment

Treatment is merely symptomatic and involves intensive care with stabilization of vital functions. In early detected cases of oral overdose induction of emesis, gastric lavage and the use of activated charcoal can all be tried. Avoid epinephrine for treatment of hypotension and shock, because its action might be reversed.

When this drug is used it creates a long list of side effects, but they won't use Epinephrine cause of the reversed action.

No one knows if he was given epinphrine or not.

No one knows If he Over dosed or was given to the side effects of his regular intramuscular medication. No one talks about it cause the person who takes these medications are made to sign confidentiality forms or face the probability of being sued.

But friends are friends no matter how they die, or why...and I simply cannot go on thinking that it was medical malpractise or an overdose, or if treatment options were exausted.

I just know personally I don't like this catagory of antipsychotics because of the side effects that I had that resembled anaphylaxis.

I really hope that the truth comes out on this. I hope that I can rely on the legal system when I say, I do not take these antipsychotics for this reason. THis type anyway.. I take A typical antipsychotics, a second generation of medications.

Although these A typical medications that I take now are Made by astra zeneca and as well the same company that manufactors the drug Propofol,

Which was what was said to have been his cause of death.

How simular the two drugs resemble one another in compund would take an expert to distinguish.

For I am alergic to Haldol and medications like it.Such as Navane, Prolixen, etc.

I am really interested in finding out what is going to happen to Michael Jackson's lawsuit.

Very good case in point.

More later...on this subject.
